Guest performance with Durawa

I’m honored to be performing with my great friend and fellow musical adventurer, Ernie Durawa, and his band, DURAWA, this Tuesday, October 10th, 2017, 7:15pm at The Backstage at El Mercado in South Austin.  Ernie has built the hottest show in town featuring the best rhythm section/band in town with a different special guest and style every week of the year. These guys play it all! I’ll be playing vibraphone and singing with this great group including Chris Alcaraz on bass, David Webb on piano, and the maestro, Mr. Durawa himself, on drums. We will perform some of my original songs as well as a selection of jazz and soul both old and new including my arrangements of some themes from the recent hit movie, La La Land. Many of the traditional jazz “standards” were taken from movie and broadway show soundtracks from the “golden age” of American songwriting in the 1920s and ‘30s. I’m trying to renew that practice in order to bring jazz to new audiences. Won’t you join us on Tuesday for a celebration of friendship and music?

Drums at Bangers

…a perfect combination. I’m playing drums with Dylan Goodhue’s Silver Fox, featuring Nick Litterski on piano and Aaron Allen on bass. We will be swinging our way through classics recorded by the likes of Frank Sinatra, Kanye West and Weezer. People have brought their dogs out to chill with us. We haven’t made an appearance here since the spring and it’s good to be back.

Alternate Video released today

Meet Me At The Spring – Alternate Video – Aaron Lack and Mark Epstein from Aaron Lack on Vimeo.

For immediate release:

A new, alternate  video has been released for Aaron Lack and Mark Epstein’s July single, “Meet Me At The Spring.” According to Lack’s management team, the new video was released today to “celebrate the return of one hundred degree temperatures” in Austin, Texas this week.  It has also been revealed that this new video was developed simultaneously with what has now become known as the Official Video when negotiations for the aerial footage for that video became stalled.

Dash-cam footage of Austin roads and expressways was used in combination with scenes from Barton Springs Pool and the surrounding area.  Residents of Austin may literally see themselves in one of the shots as they were taken on a crowded summer afternoon in 2016.

The video is now available on the “Watch” page of Lack’s website and on Vimeo. Fans can find it here: www.AaronLack.com/Watch
